Marriage as per guru granth sahib...

Various religions (though here religion should only mean a way of life and not something which divides us) specifies various definitions and ways of marriages. Here i am trying to bring forth something which i read on one of the sites about what does the Gurugranth sahib mentions about marriage which is marriage as per Sikh faith. The Sikh goal of marriage as articulated in Guru Granth Sahib is : “Those who are one-spirit in two bodies are to be considered the husband and the wife.”

There may be much more meaning in the single sentence above. One may wonder how can there be one spirit in 2 bodies? it will not be technically possible. Isnt it?

What it means is the consciousness levels of the couple normally comes at the same level. When this occurs, the above sems to be true to some extent. Some of the indian/hindu beleifs and texts, mention the same above fact by specifying the importance of a relationship by mentioning the fact that after marriage, the couple becomes so close that ones actions are pre understood by the other without any special effort. This may be somewhat similar to the attachment concept put forth in the english Relationship.

Virginia - They say it is for lovers

I would call it beautiful virginia. While remembering the good old memories of the beautiful place. I was in North Virginia... while away from the hustling and busy life of the city, NOVA was a comfortable place with huge lush green trees around everywhere specially in the summers and spring when the roads were full of multi coloured leaves.. Virginia also boasts of the many vineyards.. and lakes and falls which are well kept by teh nature . USA was an experience i will not be able to forget... though While my short year in US i did not really travel much to many places just a few which i could count on my one hand may be...

Quote for the day

When flowing water...meets with obstacles on its path, a blockage in its journey, it pauses. It increases in volume and strength, filling up in front of the obstacle and eventually spilling past it...Do not turn and run, for there is nowhere worthwhile for you to go. Do not attempt to push ahead into the danger...emulate the example of the water: Pause and build up your strength until the obstacle no longer represents a blockage.

India INC on sale

It was a while that India was facing a brain drain when Indians were moving to other countries for better prospects (this is happening even today). What is happening today is not Indians but India itself (Land, building and property) is being bought by foreign investors. It might be time that the Indian government should consider introducing some major laws related to bulk purchasing of land and property.

As per information from RAW, the stock market has been getting inflows from inappropriate sources

As per the news in one of the leading news papers a few days earlier, in which the above was cited in the front page.
If this is true then one could understand the reason why the stocks are going up at such a tremendous rate. It is to wonder why has RAW noticed only the inflows in the Stock Market. India has been getting inflows of funds from investors in all the sectors of which the stock market is just one. The other sectors which have a major foreign funds inflow includes the LAND and PROPERTY market and also some of the organised businesses (like IT e.t.c)

Why is Stalking performed?

To those who have never heard of the Term "Stalking" may not be aware as to what or why could some one stalk the other. The below are some of the reasons which have been researched.
  1. To prove Professional Superiority: This is one of the primary reasons in recent times why few strategic targets from some fields are stalked, the number of whom are stalked fully may be few because most of the targets might fall into the trap and or accept the returns.
  2. To prove racial, national or any community specific superiority: This will be described in a similar way as the above.
  3. To create collective mental or psychic harassment to some one.
  4. Matrimonial purpose: In normal circumstances the matrimonial investigation should not take turn as stalking behaviours.
  5. To dishonour the target
  6. For the purpose of Identity Theft: Identity theft is another growing social evil. It is not limited to just stealing some ones name or credit card details, but it is much much more big and may include very many reasons which one cannot easily associate with the term Identity Theft.
  7. To perform human research.
  8. For monetry benefits .
  9. Many more.....
There could and are more reasons for thie but i beleive the root cause why it prevails is the reason that there are people willing to sell their services in unethical means for money, favour or self benefits.

More about Stalking.....What is stalking exactly

Well, in technical terms and considering the precise meaning, "Stalking means repeatedly invading of some ones privacy or harassing some one and harassing the target in a form and manner which causes enormous mental strain to one and or trying to scare the target"

In todays times with the presence of tons of advanced technology stuff along with the big flow of RS$$££ and with the presence of people willing to get involved in unethical practises in return of money, favour or other befefits, ones privacy could be invaded by various means and forms. There could be various reasons why some one would like to stalk a target normally it is done with the intention of helping some one. Some of the below are the common ways in which stalking is carried out.
  • Tapping to ones phone or cell.
  • Having access to some ones phone call records and using it in a way so as to induce some sort of mental impact.
  • Hacking into someones home or office computer and keeping a track of the activities.
  • Gettings a hands on the surfing habits of the target.
  • By social engineering, i.e through the targets friends, relatives and close associates.
  • By means of cutting edge technology.

Stalking - This is coming up as a new social evil

Stalking has of late become a social evil which is easily used against people for various reasons. It is normally implemented in the pretext of doing something good or helpful.

This has become so vast and organised that a few series of topics would be needed to discuss this in detail.

So more would follow in some of the coming posts

The historic epic of Moses and Red Sea

The story about Moses and the Red Sea is one which is frequently talked about and at times even debated as to how was Moses able to part the Red Sea?

It is said that in Egypt during the rule of the Great Pharoah, slavery was predominant because of which the condition of the masses was not very good. Moses was unable to see the despair and pain of the masses and arose to the rescue of the slaves. He leaded all of the slaves to Iran there by freeing them of the slavery. The Great Pharoah ofcourse did not like this and took all of his mighty army to get the slaves back and while crossing the Red Sea lost his life and the mighty army drowned into the deep waters of the Red Sea.

Here some people debated that Moses too had access to some alien technology because of which he was able to part the Red Sea.

I am not sure obout this nor do i beleive that any such technology might possibly have existed. I do beleive that there is a divine power which could have helped Moses achieve his objective of saving the slaves; since it was a pure and divine purpose and there by empowering him to part the red sea.

Hare Krsna Temple @ Juhu-Mumbai

A temple is a place of worship for the Hindus. Temples are considered divine; with the presence of Godly vibrations which purify the mind and energize the body .

The Hare Rama Hare Krishna Temple which is located at Juhu in the center of the mumbai suburbs is a very prime place of worship.

The Aarti (which are ritual praises to the lords idols) starts early in the morning starting 4.30 am and continues till 7 am, at times followed by some discourses. The Aarti is also performed again at noon and then in the eveniong and then at night. The preists keep the idols very clean and decorated with so many beautiful clothing and ornaments. The site of the 3 idols is so attractive that one can continue to stare at the idols forever.

Surrounding the 2 sides of the temple are more idols representing a story based on one of the historic scriptures . Its interesting to read the stories written on each of the stage.

Atria Mall @ Worli Mumbai

The Atria Mall at Worli Mumbai is beyond doubt the best Shopping Mall in Mumbai, it started off a year earlier around June 2006. At that time there were a very few shops which were open.
Being my favourite place to have a walk between hrs of work stress or even enjoy the free times between work, i started to frequent the place from October 2006( a time when there were more than 1/2 shops vacant in the mall). The mall reminded me of the malls in Singapore. With an identical look construction and concept, we could easily term it as a copy of a Singapore Mall. I have seen this mall through from emptiness to full of brand names...

The mall has 3 levels and a Food court along with a ground floor. With all top Local as well as International brands like Guess, Levis, Kappa, Mango, Sepia, Promod, Reebok, Raymonds and Sony to name a few it has become a prestine place to shop. The food court too has a very good collection of eateries, with cuisines ranging from Sindhi, chinese, mughlai and italian to name a few.

There is an amusment park at the food court level for kids and fun lovers with a mini bumper car ride and a kids world. A 4d Orama theatre is there as well.

Recently this mall has been a center of some good events, namely...

-A few months back there was a 4 -5 day continuous musical event performed by some indian musicians trying to make a mark by going into the records for playing the musical instruments continuously for a really long time.

-Just day before yesterday (16/7/07) there was a lively energetic shoot for an advertisement for Samsung Mobile phones featuring some of the hottest models. I had never seen an advertisement shoot in person before this. So the very first such event was a memorable event. The scene was more of a lighted dance/bar club with people dancing all over. The ground level was full of 20-25 models occupying their places waiting for the directors GO. It was sort of amazing to see all of them immediately turning from a static state to immediately starting to dance as soon as the music started as if someone had switched their buttons On. I am waiting to see the ad on Television.

-Today(18/7/07) while walking into Atria Mall after lunch, there were preparations going on for another shoot for Airtel prepaid card. This advertisement involved none other than Shah Rukh Khan. And there i got another chance to see SRK in close up to 5 feet away from me enacting for the advertisment. He seemed to be a pretty humble person with a smile on his face. He had to put in bunny teeth for the advertisement as it looked ot me a comedy enactment.

So i beleive this is the begining of the shopping Mall era in Mumbai.

First Blog - Extracts from Bhagvada Geeta during my Vedanta class

I start my new blog with some verses from the Bhagavad Geeta Chapter 13.

I had a chance to understand and listent to these at one of the Vedanta discourses at Bandra ( i shall mention about it more later) . I do find it very difficult to actually try to implement or practise all or many of these in todays real life. But to a knowledge seeker listening to such spiritual words gives answers to some undecissive questions which ones mind and inner self often debates within.

Verse 1-2. Arjuna said: O my dear Krsna, I wish to know about prakrti [nature], purusa [the enjoyer], and the field and the knower of the field, and of knowledge and the end of knowledge. The Blessed Lord then said: This body, O son of Kunti, is called the field, and one who knows this body is called the knower of the field.

Verse 3. O scion of Bharata, you should understand that I am also the knower in all bodies, and to understand this body and its owner is called knowledge. That is My opinion.

Verse 4. Now please hear My brief description of this field of activity and how it is constituted, what its changes are, whence it is produced, who that knower of the field of activities is, and what his influences are.

Verse 5. That knowledge of the field of activities and of the knower of activities is described by various sages in various Vedic writings--especially in the Vedanta-sutra--and is presented with all reasoning as to cause and effect.

Verse 6-7. The five great elements, false ego, intelligence, the unmanifested, the ten senses, the mind, the five sense objects, desire, hatred, happiness, distress, the aggregate, the life symptoms, and convictions--all these are considered, in summary, to be the field of activities and its interactions.

Verse 8-12. Humility, pridelessness, nonviolence, tolerance, simplicity, approaching a bona fide spiritual master, cleanliness, steadiness and self-control; renunciation of the objects of sense gratification, absence of false ego, the perception of the evil of birth, death, old age and disease; nonattachment to children, wife, home and the rest, and even-mindedness amid pleasant and unpleasant events; constant and unalloyed devotion to Me, resorting to solitary places, detachment from the general mass of people; accepting the importance of self-realization, and philosophical search for the Absolute Truth--all these I thus declare to be knowledge, and what is contrary to these is ignorance.

The above verses have been covered in the 2 sessions of the vedant i have attended so far. There shall be more to come as i attend more such sessions.

Hitesh Ramchandani.
