Marriage as per guru granth sahib...

Various religions (though here religion should only mean a way of life and not something which divides us) specifies various definitions and ways of marriages. Here i am trying to bring forth something which i read on one of the sites about what does the Gurugranth sahib mentions about marriage which is marriage as per Sikh faith. The Sikh goal of marriage as articulated in Guru Granth Sahib is : “Those who are one-spirit in two bodies are to be considered the husband and the wife.”

There may be much more meaning in the single sentence above. One may wonder how can there be one spirit in 2 bodies? it will not be technically possible. Isnt it?

What it means is the consciousness levels of the couple normally comes at the same level. When this occurs, the above sems to be true to some extent. Some of the indian/hindu beleifs and texts, mention the same above fact by specifying the importance of a relationship by mentioning the fact that after marriage, the couple becomes so close that ones actions are pre understood by the other without any special effort. This may be somewhat similar to the attachment concept put forth in the english Relationship.
